Frozen in mid gallop

Don’t get in their way! The Mustangs of Las Colinas look so authentic that they could be galloping across Williams Square in real life.

Robert Glen, the artist of this wonderful sculptural fountain in Irvine, Texas, caught the essence of a herd of horses crossing a stream, with water jets spraying up as if splashed by the horses’ hooves. He truly captured a moment in time and froze it in place, commemorating the mustang as an important part of Texas history.

No wonder the sculpture was honoured with multiple awards and honours when it was installed in 1984 and has become the logo for the city of Irvine.
